NEW YORK FASHION WEEK - FALL 2009 (PART 2)

17.02.2009
TUESDAY - PART 1 OF 1

[Golden Yellow & Velvet]

[Polka Dots]

[Cape coats]

[Pink & Black]

[Bold prints on skirts]

[The modern 80s prom dress]

[Prints on leggings]

[Paisley & stripes]

[Square shoulders]

Anna Wintour's butt boy Vogue Editor at large Leon Talley. I thought Anna was putting him on a diet supposedly?

Oh God that is so wrong, I would not want to sit near her let alone kiss her. She looks so ill all the time. I find it amazing that she hasn't collapsed and ended up in the hospital from all the none eating she does. Probably has, we just haven't heard about it.

French Vogue editor Carine Roitfeld. I've heard nothing but good things about her, she seems like a sweetheart.

Bee Schaffer. Obviously there to keep an eye on Leon.

[Houndstooth]

[Cut outs]

[Sheer]

[Swirls]

[Grey & Black]

[Neutrals & Shiny pants]

The ultimate mysterious socialite Genevieve Jones makes an appearance.

[Shift dresses]

Wow this is an improvement from her previous collection, I love it and I think she nailed what she was trying to achieve. She chose some really adorable models for this shoot too.

[Grey & Give it shape]

[Metallic purples]

[Below the knee]

[Zip it up]

[High neckline, skin tight and floor length]

[Sequins]

Lindsay Lohan in Matthew Williamson Fall 2009

[Mini printed dresses]

[Fur around the neck]

[Prints all over]

[Oversized fur coats]

[Stripes & Ruffles]

WHO WORE IT BETTER?

Who wore it better?
Monet
Anja
Selena
(Monet's isn't the exact same)

[Bright furs]

[Bright colored dresses]

[Just a bit of sheer fabric]

[Neutrals]

[Mirros]

[Black & White]

[Sheer]

Hmm, those furs at the top are a little questionable, I was thinking that the only person that could really pull one of them off is Kate Moss.

Amanda Peet. Wow I didn't expect to see her at fashion week.

Joy Bryant totally rocked this Thakoon for Target dress.

[Bold prints]

[Full skirts]

[Sequins]

[Belt it & Give it shape]

[All in black]

[Plunging neckline]

[Black skirts]

[Draped dresses]

[Strapless & high neckline]

Molly Sims looks gorgeous here.

Mila Jovovich. Her style doesn't mesh with mine, but I'm always struck by her beauty.

Rachel Zoe. That dress looks like a potato sack.

Nina Garcia. That fur thing is a little much...(lets hope it's fake)

[Primary colors]

[Neutrals]

[Prints]

[Black & White]

[Crop it & Ruffles]

[Circle belts & leopard]

[Neutral & Black]

[Bold details]

[Zippers]

[Studs]

[Florals]

[Oversized knits]

[Print all over]

[Cocktail dresses]

Solange looks amazing here, she seems to have really found a good balance with her style. I can't believe I'm saying this, but she's turning into one of my favorite fashionistas at the moment.

I like the idea of printed leggings and matching purses for some reason.

Thanks for all the show coverage, R Zoe has some serious body dismorphia issues going on if she thinks she looks good. Hmmm solange I wonder who her new stylist is? Love MJ! and Carine looks FAB xx

I have to agree with you on Solange's outfit. She really pulled that ensemble together perfectly.

I looove the Tracy Reese collection so warm and cute, followed by Temperley (minus the circle belts). I too like the printed leggings/clutch combo at Marc but I don't see that translating to real life. I always get the feeling Zoe's breath would stink like rotten eggs, poor Marc! Still, I do like her Missoni dress..
What's up with the overly used fur in these collections though? Where is peta?? Tsk tsk matthew williamson and thakoon...
Solange looks adorable, so does Milla(especially in the armani opening)..

Thank you for all these photos. Amazing! Marc Jacobs, Oh I love him. And Victoria Beckham, I was very surprised that I liked her collection. Betsy, well, If I was 16 again I would have thought I'd died and gone to heaven after seeing her collection. But in my old age I don't think I could get away with anything as extravagant.

GREAT POST, as usual. i really liked preen's collection. marc jacob's was interesting. the 80's wasn't really a good time for fashion...that wasn't tacky, but he somehow managed to draw inspiration from it and work it. great great post. these shows are amazing, even with the bad economy.

Genevieve jones is truly one of the most Sexy socialites, AND I really like the (Mmmh YES, fantastical) way her Trench keeps the mystery about her sculptural curves . . .
ps: Ooooh YES, Molly Sims is "GLAMoursly" perfect with such sensual "One shoulder effect" !!!
