LOCAL STUFF
Yes he came! Snipers, police, bus detours, road closing crazy traffic, it can only mean one thing Barack Obama was in Ottawa for his first presidential visit. I can honestly say this visit went a lot better then the last time Bush was here when he said he wished we had greeted him with 5 fingers instead of one ;) I still can't believe Barack was only a ten minute walk to my apartment and he didn't come for tea.
10:30 AM - Barack lands in Ottawa.
Barack is greeted by The Royal Canadian Mounties AKA the RCMP. For those of you that don't know that's our version of the FBI.
Barack is officially greeted also by the Governor General Michaëlle Jean.
Whatever he said made he laugh hard.
11:00 AM Barack and Michaëlle have a chat.
11.:45 Barack Obama arrives at Parliament Hill.
Barack signs the guestbook.
Barack and 'the other guy' (Prime Minister Stephen Harper or Lego man as I call him) discuss important stuff. Obama thanks us for cleaning up the mess they left behind in Afghanistan (Which we are still doing).
4:25 PM Barack surprises everyone by stopping by The Moulin De la Province bakery in The Market to get some cookies for his daughters. He also gets a Canadian beavertail, the girl that served him could not stop freaking out for 5 minutes.
A crush of fans in the market. Wow those people were so lucky to be in the right place at the right time.
5:17 PM Obama takes off. The American media didn't really cover this too much, which is strange since it's his first trip as president. Apparently they are looking forward more to his trip to Mexico, oh well I guess apparently we really aren't important.

Hahahah oh wow, Harper's haircut does remind me of a Lego Man as well!
