WHAT SHOULD MICHELLE OBAMA WEAR, CANUCK STYLE!

MONDAY - PART 2

Canadian designes have decided to join the designer bandwagon and also give their input on what Michelle should wear. Though all will be revealed soon, I figured I would squeeze this post in.

Dixon was inspired by Jacqueline Kennedy and Carla Bruni-Sarkozy, the first lady of France. “Oleg Cassini kept it very streamlined and simple for Jackie O. It was always very put-together.” “Bruni has worn a lot of that regal purple and so has Michelle Obama"

“Usually we always think she should wear red or purple. I wanted to try something different." “I see her wearing something very contemporary, very modern but classy.”

"She’s a very clean silhouette kind of person. I don’t see her in strapless but I thought one shoulder would be great for her.” “She can’t wear fur, or PETA will be all over her.”

“I think unexpected is a good word. As much as I wanted her husband to win, I didn’t think he would.” The overall look: “Really clean. No accessories. A reflection, pretty much, on what I do.”

It's Dr. Martin Luther King day in America (or MLK day), I believe it's suppose to be the third Monday of January. I had no idea not all 50 states observed it until 2000, that's just crazy to me. Although I'm not American, I can defnitely appreciate his message and the changes he brought to the world only to die so young. It's hard not to be moved reading about Martin Luther King, I was definitely left shaken and emersed in thought.

In Beijing, China they have a play about Martin Luther King. Cao Li, plays him, and he actually does look a bit like him!

"The drama is in Chinese, and the cast features a Chinese actor in the role of King, accompanied by black American gospel singers.
"I have a dream," says actor Cao Li. He also has a thin mustache and a round face, which he is good at focusing in a stern and righteous gaze as he delivers his fiery speeches.
Cao is an actor with the National Theatre of China, which is co-producing the play with the Martin Luther King, Jr., Research and Education Institute. "

Hey Martin, your dream has coming true.

His favorite song: Take My Hand, Precious Lord
He reportedly asked them to play it at his funeral as he was dying.

Precious Lord, take my hand
Lead me on, let me standI'm tired, I'm weak, I'm lone
Through the storm, through the night
Lead me on to the light
Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home
When my way grows drear precious Lord linger nearWhen my light is almost goneHear my cry, hear my callHold my hand lest I fall
Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home
When the darkness appears and the night draws near
And the day is past and gone
At the river I stand
Guide my feet, hold my hand
Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home
Precious Lord, take my hand
Lead me on, let me stand
I'm tired, I'm weak, I'm lone
Through the storm, through the night
Lead me on to the light
Take my hand precious Lord, lead me home

My god would Georgina Chapman wear something else. Though, quite frankly I would do exactly the same if I were her. This might interest you http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/programmes/world_news_america/default.stm
