yay to velvet. velvet is so soft and luxurious and fun to wear. it can looks frumpy, but the key is to wear it fitted if you are doing a velvet dress and if you're only wearing a bit of velvet it can only be loose if the other item is structured/fitted. or else you'll just look weird.

I can't help but love velvet. The outfits in the first bunch look a bit bulky and unflattering, except Ashley(?) Olsen's and Diane Lane's dresses. The second olsen outfit with the blazer and funny hat is fit better for halloween though. I like the older looks a lot, and I think velvet goes better with short dresses(so it doesn't look like drapes). Now I really want a velvet headband with a big bow!
