WEDNESDAY - PART 1 OF 1
KANYE WEST has given us a preview of his shoe line for Louis Vuitton.
SCOTT SCHUMAN AKA THE SARTORIALIST is coming out with a book. “It will be published by Penguin and be around 500 pages of images with a little writing.” “a small book tour in cities like London, Paris, Dublin, a few cities in Australia, and a few cities in the US.” says Scott. Patience though, it's not due to be out till September. Source
SCOTT SCHUMAN FOR DKNY:
ASHLEY PAIGE is doing Target. Her collection will include 11 pieces, and they will be available in time for the summer. Good luck to her. I actually watched her reality show, it's good to see she's starting to make better business decisions, maybe now she'll have enough money to pay her rent.
KIRA PLASTININA, here today and gone tomorrow! The 16 fashion designer from Russia spend daddy's 80 million opening up 12 stores in America and in less than a year she's closing them all. Everything on her US website is now 50-70% off. Kira reportedly wanted to compete with stores like H & M and Forever 21, but personally I don't like her clothes and they are very overpriced. You can get much better stuff, for your money elsewhere. On the upside she currently has 70 stores in Russia, and plans to focus her energy on them she also has 10 outlets in Ukraine and five in Kazakhstan. Well, come back later kira, when the 'credit crunch' is over! Source
GEMMA WARD is being targeted by the Australian media for having gained weight during her year off from modelling since being pictured looking fuller at the beach in Byron Bay. She's said to be working out and getting back into model shape for her big 'come back' Source
OLIVER THEYSKENS is not leaving Nina Ricci yet! “I am totally committed to Nina Ricci. None of us really know from where such rumors come up, but we are feeling very confident that things are going in the right place.” Source
GOODBYE WOOLWORTHS the British retail giant is another victim of 'The credit crunch' and has closed all it's stores. I think we use to have Woolworths here in Canada back in the mid 90s, I remember shopping there with my mother and loving it, I always wanted to go back.
I'm off to NY next month, and I'm excited because this happens to fall during fashion week. Maybe someone can get me in? *wink* There's what I call a beg form on the main site to ask for tickets, I might try filling it out and see what happens.
For some odd reason I thought Topshop had opened in NY last October, but it turns out it's not until Spring so I'm totally going to miss out. Although I'm a bit bummed, I'm going to be in the UK in April so I'll wait till then. I wonder how well Topshop will do? Their prices don't translate well when you do the conversion from pounds to US dollars, everything will be double if not more so be prepared to pay 100 US for a skirt. (Judging by the sample prices I've seen in magazines). I still wish they would ship to Canada.

BLAKE LIVELY: VOGUE
Shocking! Disturbing! I've lost so much respect for Vogue and what it stood for. Although I think Blake is great, she should not be on the cover of Vogue! I don't think she deserves this honour and she hasn't even been dressing that well this year and her resume isn't that long. Put models back on the cover, that's where they belong or someone at least deserving. The cover shot is nice though, I'll give it that much.
