"Kristin Davis will not go quietly into the night after all this Sex and the City hoopla. No siree, she's heading to the drawing board to make sure Charlotte lives on. Davis will design a clothing line for South Carolina–based retailer Belk based on items in her own closet, which she admits are very similar to the things Charlotte would wear.
WWD reports:
The apparel line is full of A-line skirts and dresses, blouses and other pieces that easily can be taken day to night or casual to evening. The pieces include feminine details like flowers and jewels, and the fabric weights are sensitive to the South's milder climate. The line is offered in sizes 2 through 14. "I don't even wear a zero, so they're not allowed," Davis said.
Davis said she wanted to design for Belk because she's from Columbia, South Carolina, and used to save her allowance to shop at the store. Guess the actress shares only her style sensibility, not a life full of ponies, with her character, which totally makes us like her more. The Kristin Davis line will debut in August in 126 of Belk's 307 stores and cost from $30 to $240. But dressing just like a Sex and the City character? Priceless."
